RE: Classic tt parade lap - Revvin rich - 25-11-2014

i would love to do a lap on my old Suzuki rgv 250 but i don,t think its old enough with it being a 1991 model, but at £120 a lap and track time thrown in at jurby thats good value for money!

RE: Classic tt parade lap - Mr B - 25-11-2014

Yes Rich, your bike has to be 25 years old, so you've got a couple of years to go yet...

There were 110 entered in the programme. Race and road bikes (as it's a Closed Roads lap, your bike doesn't have to be road registered, but it must pass scrutineering). Oldest bike was a 1927 Sunbeam, newest a 1987 Norton Commander rotary.

No, for the VMCC Manx Rally Parade Lap you just have to be a VMCC member with an eligible bike. Parade laps at the TT are the ones where the rider/bike has a connection to the races.

I'd be wary if I was you Steady the Edward.  They send you out in batches which are not based on qualification times !!!!

Hi All

Some of the facts previously stated are not quite correct

The vmcc parade operate the 25 year rule for all the events except jurby at the classic tt/manx. it must be a road bike, road leagle and you must be a member of the vmcc.

Jurby entery is not automatic and the rules are differant, it can be a race bike for example allso the cost s separate and an aditional to the cloased road parade. I have taken the rotarys to jurby a few times but not the parade lap as they were either not eligerble or old enough.

This year the f1 will be old enough for the vmcc paradem so may have a go at entering it, i do see the day when prefferance of entery will be given to people who enter all the vmcc events througout the weekend. not just the parade lap and jurby

On thing i did notice at last years closed road parade was the slow speed  and every one looked like they had been instructed to stay behind the marshall for each group

Regards Rc588

Thanks Rc588. Race bikes were allowed when I did the Closed Roads Parade in 2012, things have obviously changed since. Apologies if I've misled anyone.  Blush

I'll get me coat.

RE: Classic tt parade lap - Rc588 - 21-01-2015

To clarify from the iom vmcc website PM - Closed Roads Parade to be run under ACU PR5 rules, for road machines only. Machines must be at least 25 years old, speed will be controlled by traveling marshals . Places are limited and entry will be on a first come first served basis

RE: Classic tt parade lap - Rc588 - 21-01-2015

£195 to do the parade lap and jurby this year vmcc member

non vmcc member jurby only £45
