The first one I ever heard of was water gate. So exactly what does gate mean in such matters, like a fence gate letting things in or rather out? I always wondered about it's meaning...

Watergate is just a luxury apartment building Amstel. Right on the nasty smelly Potomac.
And to think I use to jetski in those waters.

I thought more of president Nixon, remember it was in the news days on end... I was only still little not sure what it all was about... just googeled, started with break-in at the Watergate office, it shows office buildings and a river indeed.
