Ten things to do during a IOM visit ( bucket list ) - Kursaal Flyer - 19-01-2015

I am sure there this would already have been covered on an earlier thread but my searches drew a blank.

Nice and simple really what do you think are the top ten things any Island visitor should have to do on thier bucket list.

Go say hello to the Fairy s , then have the time of your life , don't worry about the other 8 as its more like a 108 and there is no way you will get them all done , so just make sure you book up for the next twenty years

.

In no particular order..
1 Murrays Museum in Stanton. It is a proper shed/man cave.
2 Find a place to watch from that has home made Manx food. Harolds and Conker feilds are two.
3 Go visit Stella and Jurby Junk if only once, and if only to say WTF!
4 Ice Cream at Peel or Port Erin.
5 A drink in Bushys, again, if only once.
6 Do a lap of the Southern 100 Course.
7 If it is a nice clear day, have a sit at the Calf Of Man and the Point Of Ayre on the same day.
8 Have a breakfast in Harrys Cafe, again if only once.
9 Take a picture of the score board.
10 Go have a sit by Joeys statue on the Mountain and absorb the atmosphere.

Some of them may not be there over the next few years, so the sooner the better!!

Well remember one day in our early years of going and having a rover ticket for the trams trains and buses and we were camping at Nobles park and it was raining bucket loads so decided to follow the coast as close as we could all the way round the Island using all the forms of transport we could with our tickets just to try and keep dry and have somthing to do and see , we had a great time , and when we got back to the campsite half the tents had been flooded and people were sheltering in hall's and getting put up by local residents , and our tent less than a couple of m away from one that was washed out was bone dry , not sure what year round about 96 /97 I would think

Ye thinking about it, I think you are spot on there C iom TT , I remember how the Manx people came up trumps as they often do and opened up their homes to washed out campers , putting them up and drying them out and often refusing to take anything in return , some of the nicest people in the world them Manxies
