GSXR 600 What Gearing? - Lee - 22-06-2015

Thought I'd ask here first.

I understand conditions and speed will change things, but, I need a recommendation on what gearing to use on the Mountain course? 2007 GSXR 600.

Cheers.

Just leave it on standard gearing ontill you have done a few laps, you willl then know which way to go.

If you're going bigger on the front make sure there's enough clearance for some chain "lash" as the chain gets pulled onto the bigger sprocket, your gearing will also change when you get the hang of corners/sections which have a long full throttle run afterwards - Union Mills, Ballagarey, Sarahs/Lambfell, Rhencullen, Quarry, Guthries etc also better to be revving out than not pulling top gear.

Standard road gearing will do it

Maybe a tooth less on the rear if it has been mildly tuned.
As a guide line, you should be rolling it back down to what remains of Brandish.
