Fatal collision at Hailwood's Rise

Police have confirmed that a 55-year-old man from Bolton, Lancashire, was killed in a crash at Hailwood's Rise this morning (Thursday).

At around 6:45AM, a BMW motorcycle was involved in a collision with a Citroen C4 - both vehicles were following the Mountain Road's one-way system.

The driver of the car is understood to be a local man.

The stretch of the Mountain Road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.

Police are appealing for any further witnesses who have not yet come forward to call them on 631212.

Sad news. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop the people coming over from going all out around the course. There is always going to be people crashing and passing away. I guess they never think it will happen to them...
