With preparations for the start of the road race season in full swing, with prestigious events such as the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT, we’re delighted to bring you a special video – part of Honda Pro Racing’s ‘A Life Behind The Bars series’ – featuring Honda Racing’s John McGuinness.

An absolute legend on the roads, McGuinness has scored 23 TT wins in his career and is still considered as one of the men to beat around the 37.75-mile Mountain course.

We delve into the life of the Morecambe Missile, where he talks about his childhood, the major influences on his career and just what it takes to become a multi TT winner.

They say you should never meet your heroes, but not so in the case of John McGuinness.
I consider it a privilege to have met and spent quality time with him over the past 5 years working on the Mugen Shinden project and he is exactly as he comes across in most media - an ordinary bloke who happens to be quite(!) good around a stretch of tarmac in the middle of the Irish Sea, and who absolutely lives for his racing, the TT and his fans, with a massive knowledge and respect for the history of the sport.
A true ambassador for the TT.

Honda also need to retain him when he retires, what a great ambassador for them.

Yep a class act, I wonder when he will quit, nothing left to prove?

Well Said Mugen,
A True Gent,
Who loves what he does,
Enjoys his wins, but respectful to the person that beats him !
