McGuinness and Whitham: Live & Uncut - Malcolm - 02-08-2019

John McGuinness will be stepping off his Paton and into the Classic TT Hospitality Suite for an evening of indiscreet stories and revelations with James Whitham. Tickets are now available for the evening at iomttraces.com, which takes place on Friday 23rd August and is part of a packed programme of Official Events and Experiences during this year’s Classic TT presented by Bennetts.

John remains one of the most popular and successful riders on the road-racing scene, with multiple TT lap and race records – as well as 23 TT wins to his name. Indeed, John’s time at the top has now spanned two decades as 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of his first win.

He returned to racing on the TT Mountain Course following serious injury and a near two-year absence, to compete in the 2018 Bennetts Senior Classic TT Race. The race saw John secure an emotional win - and his second at the Classic TT - before delighting the fans with his much anticipated return to the TT earlier this year with Norton.

James is better known as a circuit racer with two British Championship wins, but actually enjoyed a four-year Mountain Course career, making his debut in the 1985 MGP Newcomers Race – a DNF – before finishing in 1989 on the Supersport podium.

The Yorkshire born rider later became well known for his commentary work on Eurosport and the TT for ITV with his combination of excellent analysis and his direct, tongue in cheek irreverent style proving popular with fans.

Doors open at 8pm and the evening will feature an hour of the pair swapping tales and sharing experiences before the floor is opened up to the floor and your chance to ask John and James your own questions. There will also be photo opportunities and the chance to meet the pair over a beer or two.

Tickets are available from iomttraces.com, and are priced at £25

John McGuinness and James Whitham are appearing in the UK throughout the year. For further details go to mjksportsevents.co.uk
