Idiots on Closed Roads. - Malcolm - 20-08-2019 I write this with utter disbelief. We have just taken a report from Marshals that a car drove onto closed roads (sit down for this bit), was ordered into a lay-by by Marshals and decided to ignore the advice, do a u-turn and drive against the TT course where the driver drove about a half a mile against the course before Marshals had to stand in the road in order to direct the car off the closed road. The potential consequences to this could have been catastrophic . One male now on his way to custody. #thekettleisempty. Sgt Cretney, Force Incident Manager. This is a reminder to all that during the Festival of Motorcycling period cycling is prohibited on the A18 between its junction with the Hairpin and the Creg-Ny-Baa back road.
