Christian Iddon and Glenn Irwin mirrored each others best placed results as both riders posted 5th and 7th place finishes in the Bennetts British Superbike class during the action packed triple header at Oulton Park this weekend.

Showdown aside, both Tyco BMW riders have demonstrated their potential and can both now challenge for the Riders’ Cup over the final three rounds with race podiums still the main goal - as TAS Racing continue their development along with BMW Motorrad of the all-new S1000RR machinery.

Philip Neill - Team Manager:

"The final showdown qualifying round is always a tense affair and this year's edition was no exception with three important races over the two days. Unfortunately we did not quite do enough to land a top six championship position although both Christian and Glenn did enjoy another solid weekend with both riders achieving strong results as we continue to develop the all new BMW S1000RR. A showdown position is always the target and for Christian to put himself in contention for this after suffering a broken leg at Knockhill is commendable, I’m sure if there was an endeavour award in BSB it would be in Christian’s hands tonight. Thanks to both riders for their efforts and to our sponsors for their continued support. Finally I must say it was great to have Keith Farmer join us this weekend as he recovers from his injuries."

Christian Iddon - British Superbike #21:

"We came into the weekend with an outside chance and at one point all the stars seem to be aligning, in the end it wasn't to be. I am happy with how I am riding, it was a reasonably strong weekend in terms of results (5th and 7th). I am now just looking forward to finishing the season on a high. Thank you to the whole team for their effort this weekend and all partners and sponsors for their continued support."

Glenn Irwin - British Superbike Rider #2:

"I'm really happy with the weekend, coming away with a fifth in race three, I felt really strong and kept it clean. I'm learning more and more about myself and the Tyco BMW S1000RR. I'm really looking forward to Assen in two weeks time, again I'm not going to set any goals other than to just keep improving, understanding the bike more and to ultimately close the gap to the front. Thanks once again to the whole Tyco BMW team for all their hard work this weekend."
