TT Sound Stories - bsa499 - 19-05-2020

In the absence of the 2020 TT and MGP_CTT races I've got hold of a set of historic TT CD sound recordings. They cover the years 1958-1968, so this won't be of interest to some, but they do make really compelling listening. I think they're re-packaged Stanley Schofield Sound Story recordings as the commentators are 1931 Lightweight TT winner Graham Walker and his famous commentator son Murray who really knew their stuff. Of course they can't replace the actual races but they include some cracking machine sounds, commentary and lots of rider interviews.

Can you up load them to Youtube to be able to share?

You have to watch out for the wrath of Duke!
I had 1 film taken down off youtube & a warning about another.
Both where taken from the original Eurosport satellite channel, before it went bust & disappeared, so I thought it would be safe!

About 30 years ago I had the 2 audio cassettes that they used to sell,
1 was stolen from my car (well, it was in the cassette radio that got nicked!)
Serves them right said my wife!

I had a vinyl LP recorded 1967 at the Diamond Jubilee Race. We played it in the garage every day in the winters in the late 60s and early 70s. At last the end came and the record was not possible the use anymore. Way too much foreign stuff in the grooves. Peter Arnold made the interviews. I missed the record a lot. But! One day, I believe in 2017 the LP-record was released again by Duke. And now it's here beside me almost unused. Great stuff. It is a two records album containing, among others, Hailwoods Honda 500 four, Agos triple MVs 350 and 500. The brand new Honda 297 six RC 174, and Ago interviewed by Hailwood!

Hi eman just had a look on the Duke site they still have them £24.99 for a box set of 10 cd's covering 1958 to 1968 product code 9953 Well worth the money, like ciomtt says they would be a bit difficult about it and a another thing I have no idea how to do it anyway being a technophobe 🤔

I think my wife's getting fed up of listening to my recordings of the 1958 to 1968 TT. I'm still enjoying them though! Brilliant commentaries and interviews from Graham and Murray Walker and Peter Arnold.

SILJA, you do know you can wash records right?

Hi Rick,

Yes there are some tips here: https://www.yoursoundmatters.com/top-record-cleaning-tools-every-vinyl-enthusiast-should-own/

Ther ultra sonic I've never tried but it looks good. Concerning my two badly worn out LP's they were affected by "welding flees" (translated from Swedish) that had melted into the vinyl. No chans to repair! Take care!  :-)
