Enterprise minister says 'he likes the old scoreboard'

The future of the TT scoreboard at the Douglas grandstand is under consideration.

The iconic wooden-framed feature has been a part of the event for more than a century, the oldest manually operated one of its kind in the world.

However a consultation is taking place to discuss its future.

Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly says resurfacing works on Glencrutchery Road mean the scoreboard will be taken down:

It would be a great shame if it was replaced by a modern version and especially with all the history it has its a bit like triggers brush bits and bobs have been replaced over the years watching the scouts running around placing the times and speeds up its unique only to the TT.
