Manx Radio TT for 2005 - Anonymous - 29-01-2005

Manx Radio will provide the official sound for TT 2005.

Station management and the Department of Tourism and Leisure have signed a contract giving Radio TT exclusive rights to the two week motorcycle festival.

It was announced by Tourism Minister, David Cretney at the media conference to officially launch this year's event.

Mr Cretney says it is a natural partnership:

I would like to see:- Geoff cannell ( Grandstand ) Maurice Maudsley ( Glen Helen ) Roy Moore ( Ramsey ) and Milky and Chris in the paddock.

I read recently that Charlie Lambert, who replaced Geoff Cannell last year, has already been confirmed as the 'anchorman' for this year's commentaries.

I fear that Mr Lambert sounds FAR too like Mr Hansen to be even remotely acceptable . . . .

Bring back Geoff.

Re: Manx Radio TT for 2005 - Anonymous - 31-01-2005

Is it been brocasted via the net this year?
Web cams etc?

Re: Manx Radio TT for 2005 - Anonymous - 31-01-2005

TT radio has been broadcasting it over the net the past years. and I am looking forward sitting on my sunny balcony here in Munich with a beer in hand listening to the bikes flying past glen Helen and Ramsey Hairpin. But I will be doing it with a heavy heart because I would have prefered being there in person. Come on 2007

With the new look TT, could they not forgive and forget, (if that is the correct wording), and bring back Geoff Cannell, No disrespect to Mr Lambert, he done an ok job, but, Geoff Cannell , has the talk, and more importantly, the knowledge at the tip of his tongue!, which is needed in the fast world of TT racing.
