Willie Warks' progress in hospital - thewitch - 08-09-2007

Willie Wark came off Brian Richard's Manx at Gedinne in the last race last Sunday. Before the accident he had had a couple of second places and was challenging for the lead when he fell off.
He has broken vertebrae, broken ribs and a head injury. At present he is in an induced coma, and doctors in the University Hospital in Liege are hopeful of a good recovery.

Is that the same Bill Wark thats was at the Manx helping Anita B if so all the best Bill get well soon in our thoughts Irish Ago.......

That's him, Ago. You'll know him from the Pre-TT Classic too, I think.

- Shaun Harris - 08-09-2007

Get well ASAP mate

- GriffMuss - 11-09-2007

Ok, Bill Wark has had an operation to vertebrae yesterday and has been moving his legs. I believe that the medical staff were to try bring him round today and see how his condition is. I will pop back when I hear any more news.
Come on Bill! We've got some wine that needs finishing Lol

Willie is still poorly in hospital in Liege, but is semi-conscious now, and seems to be recognising people. Get well soon, Willie, we need some good news!!

- thewitch - 21-09-2007

Willie is making steady progress and there is word he may be flown back to Scotland soon. Don't know where, or if he'll be immediately up to visitors.

- Anita Buxton - 25-09-2007

Just to let everyone know that Billy is now back in Scotland. He was flown back today and is in the Intensive Care Unit in Dumfries Royal Infirmary. He is fully conscious and communicating well. Fingers crossed he is going to make full recovery. Big Grin

Billy's progress - Anita Buxton - 10-10-2007

Billy has made huge progress this week - although he is still very weak, he's been up on his feet and walking (much further than the Physio wanted him too!) He's eating & talking well, so hopefully he'll be allowed to leave hospital in the next few weeks. Big Grin He's very appreciative of everyone's well wishes and can't wait to be fit and back to normal. Shaun - I told him about your  HUGE  progress   and we both had a bit of a giggle - glad everythings working ok!
