Daytona News - Bill Snelling - 07-03-2008

Neil Hodgson (Honda) takes pole position for the Daytona 200 race this weekend.
For those of us who like our bikes with less cylinders and more growl, nice to see the Australian Irving Vincent developed by Ken Homer of KHequipment took a win and a third in the Battle of the Twins races.
Anyone know how 'our' Ago got on?

RE: Daytona News - irishago - 08-03-2008

HI all,

WELL WE HAD A VERY POSITIVE START AT ROEBLING ROAD LAST THURSDAY WEEK WHERE I FINISHED A FINE 5TH ABOARD GOLD STAR RON,S 1960 BSA GOLD STAR MANX IN VERY GOOD COMPANY. MESSERS: ROPER, MOONEY, JOYCE AND J CRONSHAW. THEN IT WAS ON TO DAYTONA LAST MONDAY WHERE WHILE RUNNING IN A VERY POSITIVE 4TH PLACE WE HAD A BATTERY FAILURE COSTING ME A POSSIBLE 3RD AS I WAS CATCHING ROPER AT THE TIME, BUT THE ORGANISERS CREDITED ME WITH 11TH OUT OF 18 SO I WAS VERY HAPPY . AS FOR TUESDAY ALTHOUGH I DIDNT MAKE AS GOOD A START I MANAGED TO BRING THE GOLD STAR HOME IN 9TH PLACE SO IN A FACT I DID WHAT I SET OUT TO DO A TOP TEN AT DAYTONA ON MY FIRST VISIT. IM OFF TO WILLOW SPRINGS ON 10TH OF APRIL FOR THE NEXT 2 ROUNDS OF THE ARHMA PREMIER 500 CHAMPIONSHIPS.
MY WEBSITE HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH THE DAYTONA RESULTS ALL THE BEST IRISH AGO.....Cool

RE: Daytona News - Fitz - 09-03-2008

Looks like we might have a British Winner in the form of Chaz Yahoo

Former - and perhaps future - grand prix rider Chaz Davies looks to have become the first ever British rider to win the prestigious Daytona 200 AMA race after Josh Hayes, who crossed the line first, was disqualified for illegal crankshaft modifications.

Taken form http://www.crash.net
