Sensational lap by DJ ! - Anonymous - 31-05-2002
The highlight of a brilliant practice session held in perfect conditions this evening was a quite incredible lap by David Jefferies at 17 minutes 58 seconds, just a second shy of 126mph. DJ recorded several fantastic laps tonight - on my own unofficial timing from the Grandstand I reckon he lapped at 18-16 from a standing start on his 1000 Production bike, almost 124mph. I didn't get a time for his second lap. He then followed this with 18-08 from a standing start on the F1 bike, before recording his unbelievable 17-58 on the next, flying lap ! What makes this performance even more amazing is the fact that he had a lot of traffic to negotiate, and was held up in 2 or 3 places.
Also recording an excellent lap tonight was John McGuinness, who recorded approximately 123.5 on his F1 bike. The weather forecast for tomorrow is sunny and clear - I can hardly wait !!
