I think the point he is making is probably to do with the motorbike racing community being able to support itself in the coming year - race teams are part funded by industry ‘partners’ supplying them ...

Just seeing the post for first time. I have followed road racing for 30+ years. Not once have I felt compelled to call into question the bravado or integrity of a rider who chooses to be a road racer....
