The 96-year-old was a popular farmer and TT fan

Tributes are being paid to Harold Leece, who has passed away.

The 96-year-old, who was a well-known Manx farmer and life-long TT fan, died this weekend.

He won the Spirit of the TT award in 2015, for years of hospitality to fans at his farm on the approach to Gorse Lea.

That section of the course is now officially called Harold's.

TT winner Charlie Williams was a regular guest in the garden.

Several years ago Harold sent a jigsaw picture of himself and Charlie at the farm as a Christmas gift:

Much respect and regards to the family for one of the best managed spec sites - great facilities / cakes / tea and people. What supporting the TT/MGP is all about.

So, so sad to read this. Harold was the definition of a true gentleman, and a Manxman.

So privileged to have met this delightful gentleman. A true TT/MGP enthusiast, who will be sorely missed.

I've visited Harold in his garden for a couple of times including some cups of tea. Really sad news. R.I.P. Harold. Condolences to the family.
Don't be that optimistic! The light in the tunnel can be a train. Sad
