The Manx Motor Cycle Club is delighted to announce the launch of a new BRAND for the Manx Grand Prix Races which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

The MMCC is looking confidently to the future, standing on the strong foundation it has built over the last 90 years and with the revised Manx Grand Prix format the new BRAND expertly captures the essence of this focused, progressive and high quality event.

The newly designed BRAND also expertly showcases the evolving format of the MGP and will feature on all documentation, media, advertising material published and official merchandise produced by the organisers of the Manx Grand Prix.

Practice and qualifying commences on Saturday 17th August and the Manx Grand Prix races will be run on Wednesday 28th and Friday 30th August with the Classic TT taking place on Saturday 24th and Monday 26th August.

MMCC, you should be collectively and thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.

You have thrown away 90 years of history at the behest of the PR and Marketing "men", one of the the leading lights of which gathering has, I believe, never thrown his leg over a racing motor cycle, and not forgetting the so-called "politicians" in the IOM Government who seem to delight and revel in the complete absence of their knowledge of how the world works.

But then, that is the story of racing today - Show Business and rake in the cash.

I used to say that the only element of "sport" left in our game resided in the Classic and Sidecar racing/racers.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but there is only the slideys left . . . . . . .

Isnt this the third 'logo' in the last few years. Next thing will be new clothing for the Manx Motorcycle Club, shirts, blouses, coats etc. And how much was paid out for the latest offering in design and consultation.

MMCC spends funds on this yet fails in promotion of the event, as it has done for years.

Lets hope the MGP programe on the telly boosts interest or the island will suffer.

Manx Motor Cycle Club launches new brand identity as part of Manx Grand Prix re-launch.

The Manx Motor Cycle Club, organisers of the annual Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man, has launched a new brand identity for the event as part of the relaunch of the 90-year-old event.

The identity, which was created by Isle of Man based design company 'Range Left, Jagged Right', includes a new logo, which retains the iconic 'racing' green colour associated with the club and the event, and also features the instantly recognisable Manx triskellion symbol - the three legs.

The new identity and logo will feature on all documentation, media, advertising and other collateral created by the club. It will also feature on the range of official merchandise including shirts, t-shirts and jackets.

The MGP began in 1923 as the 'Manx Amateur Road Races' and was renamed the Manx Grand Prix in 1930. Notable names to have competed in the 'Manx' include multiple world Champion Phil Read, Carl Fogarty, Charlie Williams, Steve Hislop, and modern TT stars Ian Hutchinson and Michael Dunlop. The legendary Geoff Duke, who won the 1949 Senior ahead of his first TT victory in 1950.

The Manx Grand Prix is part of the newly formed Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling, which includes the Classic TT, the Two-Day and Classic Trial and the VMCC Rally and Festival of Jurby. It runs from Saturday 17th August to Sunday 2nd September on the Isle of Man.

Practice and qualifying for the 2013 Manx Grand Prix commences on Saturday 17th August and the Manx Grand Prix races will be run on Wednesday 28th and Friday 30th August.

Harvey Garton, Chairman, Manx Motor Cycle Club commented:

"The MMCC is looking confidently to the future, standing on the strong foundation it has built over the last 90 years and, with the revised Manx Grand Prix format, the new brand identity expertly captures the essence of this focused, progressive and high quality event."
