Donald to miss Classic TT with broken wrists

Aussie roads star Cameron Donald will miss this year’s Classic TT after breaking both wrists in a dirtbike accident at the weekend.

Donald was taking part in the Wedderburn Six-Hour when he crashed after hitting a tree and smashing himself into the handlebars. One wrist one wrist required surgery and plaster while the other has only a mild fracture. It has also set back his testing schedule with Norton.

"It was pretty muddy in the morning but it was drying out and uphill there was about ten axle-deep ruts I landed cross-rutted and clipped a tree on the side of the track and pole-axed myself over the bars,” he said.

“My left wrist only has a very small fracture so that remains out of plaster and should be fine, which is good, but my right one was done pretty bad and I had to get pins, plates and screws put in that."
