View at the Bungalow (Laxey Glen) at 11:00hrs today

  • 13:05 - Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson is currently carrying out an inspection of the TT course. He has advised that the majority of the course is wet and there is currently low lying mist on the Mountain section. A decision on tonight's qualifying session will therefore be made at 3.30pm.
  • 15:30 - CofC - after inspection, an announcement on tonights Practice will be made at 16:00hrs

Ugh. This is the worst possible start for the Honda team, as well as the newcomers. They desperately need time on the big bikes.

Is there a minimum number of practice sessions to be performed before all the races are cancelled?
Don't be that optimistic! The light in the tunnel can be a train. Sad

I don't know if there is but we are not near that yet.  I remember a few years back, in 2013 I believe, we had awful weather and even had the Senior cancelled.  Lots of practice time was lost but the races were still held.

2015 had some horrendous weather, they didn't get a lap in until the wednesday, 2013 they raced on mad sunday due to practice delays, 2012 was when the senior was cancelled.

RE: Monday Practice - (+ Revised Schedule)
It's the one thing that bugs me in a major fashion - these days there are no end of stifling safety regs regarding the racing, the riders, their crew, their kit, the spectators etc but when it comes down to practice as in time out the circuit learning we have less time than we used to have - the standing start one lap sessions don't teach anybody about getting through Bray Hill at top speed or the chance to get into some sort of rhythm. I know / understand people have to get home after but what was ever wrong with the big Thursday practice session ?, what would be wrong with starting practice after lunch / midday on a couple of days so that riders with less laps in would be more relaxed if they were dealing with machine issues combined with the weather issues ?.

Totally agree . Early morning practice will never return but what's wrong with afternoon practice
with a break to let people get home after work, then kick off again early evening?

RE: Monday Practice - (+ Revised Schedule)
Recent posts have gone off track and should have a thread of their own.

This Thread is related to Monday Practice specifically.

General comments on what might be, might have been etc are appropriate for a separate thread.
