RE: Wednesday Night Practice Session - Cancelled by Circuit Incidents
Rest in speed Dan ... i'm more than a little worried too about just what has happened afterwards at Ballacrye with an accident involving another rider and the course car.

Yes, heard it on Manx Radio. To say I am totally gutted by this news is probably an understatement. I loved this lad from time watching him in race in the Manx and I had high hopes for him this year. Condolences to the Kneen family. RIP beautiful Dan. A black day for me and many others 😥

ACU Events Ltd regrets to confirm that Dan Kneen, 30, from Onchan in the Isle of Man died this evening following injuries sustained during the Superbike qualifying session on the Isle of Man.

Dan had an accident at Churchtown on the first lap of the session and died at the scene of the incident.

Dan made his mountain course debut at the Manx Grand Prix in 2008 and won an unprecedented three races – the Junior, the Newcomers C and the Ultra Lightweight MGP Races.

He achieved his first TT podium in last year’s Superstock Race, finishing third in the Superstock TT Race. He has a fastest official lap of 130.347mph which he set in last year’s Superstock Race and recorded a lap of 132.258mph (17:06.994) in last night’s Superbike qualifying session.

ACU Events Ltd wishes to pass on their deepest sympathy to Dan's partner Leanne, his family and his many friends in the road racing community and beyond.

On behalf of everyone from TTwebsite.com, I take this opportunity to extend out heartfelt condolences to Leanne, Dans Family and all his friends.

Rest In Peace Dan.

Never forgotten.

Malcolm

Spent most of yesterday in reflective mood thinking about DJ and (my own personal favorite rider) Simon Beck. Then wake up to the heartbreaking news of the loss of Dan Kneen.

My sympathy and condolences for those close to Dan - but it all seems a bit pointless at the moment.

Very shocked to read about this , this morning.
Dan was the the last to come to mind when I was wondering about who could possibly have been involved in the accident. I offer my sincere condolences to Dan's loved ones,
The Tyco ride was a great chance for Dan, and now it's all gone.
It's a cliche, but I can't think of anything apart from " what a cruel sport"
R.I.P Dan

As I pulled away from work last night just after 6 with the radio on I heard a cheerful Dan recounting how he'd skipped the 131s and gone straight to the 132s. His enthusiasm for life always shone through and he will be a big loss not only to his family and friends but to all who "knew" him through watching him race. RIP.

I am still doing some last minute packing to catch the early boat in the morning, but to be honest, it feels like I am just going through the motions, and all that normal excitement is missing.

I'm leaving home late Saturday - to get the early morning ferry from Liverpool: and I'm feeling much the same as yourself.
