TT Riders - BSB Testing Day Two Review
[Image: TTgreenhdr.jpg]

The second day of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Test at Monteblanco Circuit drew to a close at 6.00pm local time, with TT stars Dean Harrison, James Hillier, Gary Johnson and Lee Johnston getting more miles on their bikes ahead of the 2019 racing season.

Lee Johnston clocked up the most miles on day two, completing a total of 64 laps split across his Supersport and Superstock machines. The Ulsterman, who recently turned 30, completed 42 laps on the Yamaha R6 and 24 laps on the BMW S1000RR machinery he will use in the Monster Energy Supersport Races and RL360 Superstock Race respectively. Johnston continued to be the fastest 600 rider at the test, today improving his time by just under 1 second with a lap of 1 minute 40.997 seconds.

James Hillier was just one lap short of Johnston’s tally, completing 63 laps on his Quattro Plant Wicked Coatings Kawasaki ZX10-RR. He posted his fastest lap of the day in the afternoon session, with a lap of 1 minute 40.535 seconds.

Dean Harrison kept his Silicone Engineering Racing team busy, as they worked through a testing programme focussing on a variety of suspension and brake components. Completing a total of 44 laps, Harrison was once again the fastest TT competitor at the event and the only one to go under 1 minute 40 seconds, with a best lap of 1 minute 39.442 seconds set early in the day.

After losing a significant amount of time on day one with a technical issue, Gary Johnson completed a total of 32 laps on his RAF Regular & Reserve Kawasaki ZX10-RR. His test machine is using a combination of Superbike and Superstock components, and he spent the day working through a variety of suspension set ups which clearly brought improvement. Johnson went nearly 3 seconds faster on day two with a best lap of 1 minute 41.954 seconds, and completed a series of long runs in the afternoon.
