Michael Dunlop is expected to be fit enough to compete at next week's North West 200 after fears he would miss the event due to injury.

Dunlop sustained a wrist injury after crashing during testing at Kirkistown, putting his appearance at the Triangle in doubt.

However, the five-time North West winner has made a quick recovery and is expected to take his place on the grid next week.

Dunlop is expected to race in the Supersport, Superstock and Superbike classes in what will be his first road racing appearance since the passing of his brother, William.

The 30-year-old from Ballymoney last won at the North West in 2016 when he finished top of the podium in the Superbike race.
