Been left with a room available by a scammer!
Someone called Mark requested a twin room for about 10 days, himself and a mate, both with bikes, been coming for years but the person they stay with has had to stop doing homestay. So I accept the booking, communication flows well in both directions, then - nothing.
Despite several emails he has disappeared into thin air. I'm not sure what was to be gained by this apart from the annoying aspect for me and a good laugh for him (or her!).
I suppose I should go the route of asking for a deposit, but in the 20 or so years we have been doing homestay, this is the first unfortunate experience we have had.
Ah well, we learn by our mistakes!
