CHARTERHOUSE AUCTIONEERS PARTNERS WITH DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRISE TO BRING HISTORIC BIKE AUCTION TO CLASSIC TT RACES

The Isle of Man Government’s Department for Enterprise has signed an agreement with Classic Car and Bike auctioneers Charterhouse to be an official partner of the Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts.

The partnership includes Charterhouse running an auction at the Classic TT Races from 2020. The first auction is scheduled to take place during the August Bank holiday weekend in 2020 in a specially constructed venue in the Classic TT Paddock in Nobles Park and will be open to both on line and on-event bidders.

Charterhouse have been selling vintage, classic and racing motorcycles for over 20 years and are now inviting lots from all parties interested in selling prestigious bikes and other high value memorabilia.

The Charterhouse team will be present at this year’s Classic TT to meet all those who may have vintage and classic motorcycles to sell. Motorcycle fans can also view a number of rare machines that Charterhouse have already secured ahead of next year’s auction.

Bikes that will be featuring in the auction will also be displayed ahead of next year’s auction in the Isle of Man Motor Museum in Jurby - which is an Officially licensed TT Museum – which, in addition to its collection of vintage cars, also has a comprehensive display of bikes.

Matthew Witney, Charterhouse Auctioneers commented:

“We are not just looking for items associated with the TT Races but anything that people believe would be of interest to motorcycle fans. There is a growing market for prestigious vintage and classic motorcycles and the Isle of Man, with its heritage and passion for motorcycle racing, is the most appropriate location to hold an auction.”

Rob Callister, Isle of Man Government Political Member for Tourism and Motorsport commented:

“We are anticipating great interest worldwide in an auction of classic and vintage motorcycles on the Isle of Man. The auction will not only generate further prestige and interest in the Classic TT Races but will also provide an attraction to fans with a display of all of the lots open to view ahead of the auction.”
