Bad luck continues to follow Leon Camier around as the British rider recovers from his crash at the Aragon test…

After a crash at the MotorLand Aragon test just two weeks ago, Leon Camier (BARNI Racing Team) will miss the forthcoming Jerez test due to left wrist and shoulder fractures. Replacing Camier at Jerez will be former WorldSSP race winner, Michele Pirro, who has won numerous titles for the BARNI Racing Team in the CIV Superbike championship in Italy.

Camier crashed at Turn 9 at Aragon on the second day of testing and was transferred to hospital in order to proceed accordingly. So far, there has been no operation and there looks unlikely to be one as conservative treatment should let the injuries heal naturally. However, with Camier taking precautionary measures and sitting the Jerez test out, the BARNI Racing Team will be on track with Michele Pirro. The Ducati Test Team rider from MotoGP™ will be looking to assist the development of the V4 R Panigale at Jerez.

Speaking about the misfortune, team principal Marco Barnabo said:

“I'm a little bit disappointed because Leon needs to improve the feeling with the bike, but his physical conditions is the most important thing. That's why we decided, by common agreement, not to take risks. However, we have already planned to test new components on the bike and for this reason we decided to be on track with Michele, a rider we are very familiar with. I think he can show us the right way to develop the bike for Leon.”
