The Class of '78
Can we reserve a corner of the room at The Cat for a bunch of grey-haired, (if we have any at all) codgers to reminisce about riding in the '78 Newcomers. It sounds like quite a few of us who rode through the mist and rain will be there. We will allocate a chair for Larry even if he is not present, I will tell Jane to give the big fella a duffing over to replicate the way he felt during the race. Oops, have I spilt the beans that you fell off TWICE in your racing career Larry!

Interesting to see who was there, and who we could have at the Cat. Flip, of course, and your good selves. A Kneen or two...
Sadly, you could not have Alan Bissett from Aberdeen, who died, far too young, from cancer. No Mez... so sadly missed, but I look forward to hearing your tales of woe and glory on the Tuesday evening of race week... I believe we have another participant from Ireland's fair shores????

Hi Larry
Didn't you test the tarmac in practice for the Newcomers?

Do you mean to say you did that splendid exhibition class effort at Castletown Corner, with little or no practice? Cool smilie

RE: The Class of '78
My old mate Donal Hughes from Belfast rode and finished in the Lightweight Newcomers race in 1978 and I have mentioned this get together to him and he would love to be there but can't guarantee it. I will keep encouraging him to do so!
