TT travelling marshal has 'serious injuries'

KEPPEL GATE CRASH

A TRAVELLING TT marshal crashed on the closed Mountain Road earlier today (Tuesday).
A TT press spokesman confirmed John McBride came off his motorcycle at Keppel Gate.

After initially being taken to Noble's Hospital, McBride has now been airlifted to hospital in the UK, with what are being described as serious injuries.

The spokesman said TT organisers would have to draft in another marshal at short notice or hold this afternoon's TTXGP practice and this evening's Royal London 360 Superstock race with a reduced team.

But he did not expect the crash to lead to a delay or cancellation of the practice session or the race.

Big John is in the Royal Liverpool Infirmary in an induced coma and is due in surgery tomorrow to set his fractures, which means he is responding well to treatment but is still very seriously ill.I am sure he will be back with us in the ,hopefully, not too distant future.
