The Joey Dunlop Injured Riders Fund (Isle of Man) - Update July 2001

Hello supporters,
Just a brief up-date, as I am sure you are all familiar with what our fund stands for and I don't want to reiterate this each and every time boring you all to tears. (Please refer to our earlier publications if you wish to know what we have been achieving since inception of the fund - thanks). Even though the Manx Grand Prix is not running we are still doing well and have a few fund raising events lined up during the next few months.

Another bonus for fund members, is that we have now managed to find a reputable and suitable Project Manager, who has been working very hard with members to assist with the planning of the disablement lodge. We are currently in discussions in respect of where the proposed site may be built, and although this will take a considerable length of time to get to the planning permission stage, we are hopeful that everything will work out in our favour. We will need all your kind support and generosity to raise funds to build the lodge as you know, but I will do my best to keep you informed and let you know more specific details when the members have been made aware of everything.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF EVERYONE INVOLVED IN OUR COMMITTEE TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ASSISTED US DURING THE T.T. FORTNIGHT.

I would like to list them all but there are too many people, groups and organisations. However, they have all received our thank you letters and have been advised in person of how grateful we all are for their tireless efforts.

Thanks to everyone and also members alike, our funds are growing and looking more healthy! I will attend to another publication when we have had our next meeting in August and advise you of fund raising events that we will be organising.

Thank you for reading this publication.

All the best,
Angela G. Wood

Fund Secretary / organiser
