The infamous Dundrod circuit plays host to one of Ireland’s oldest sporting events and regularly attracts tens of thousands of spectators. The physically demanding course is the fastest road racing track in the world and covers 7.5 miles of Ulster’s public roads.

County Down-based Lougher knows Dundrod well. Since 1989, the popular road racing veteran has enjoyed five victories, ten podiums and two other top five finishes.

The 38-year-old has already been successful on the public roads this year. At the recent Isle of Man TT, Cardiff-born Lougher won the second Supersport race aboard the Team DMRR Honda Racing CBR600RR. He also finished runner-up in the Senior and Superstock TT races.

The experience Welshman also claimed victory at the International North West 200 aboard the Blackhorse Finance Superstock Fireblade and finished third in the second Superbike race aboard the Team DMRR Honda Racing CBR1000RR. He hopes to build upon the confidence of these successes and add to his victory tally at the Ulster Grand Prix this weekend.

Team DMRR Honda Racing newcomer Donald is also looking for success on his debut at the Ulster Grand Prix. The young Australian, who has only recently joined the team, has already impressed Honda Racing fans by finishing runner-up at the recent Faugheen 50 road races, and achieving three top ten positions at the Mid-Antrim 150 event.

Donald is an experienced road racer and has claimed a number of impressive victories to date. Since 2001, he has scooped two wins and one other podium finish at the Macau Grand Prix and three victories at the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship. He was also the fastest of all the newcomers at the Isle of Man TT and the North West 200 earlier this year.

Ian Lougher: “I’m really happy with the progress I have made with the Team DMRR Honda Racing machines during practice this week. So far, I have posted the second best time in the Superbike class aboard the Team DMRR Honda Racing CBR1000RR Fireblade and have been averaging a top four position in the other classes.

“The team has had some fantastic results at the various events this year, including the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT, and I hope we can continue this at the Ulster Grand Prix.”

Cameron Donald: “It’s my first time at the Ulster Grand Prix and I’m really looking forward to showing everyone what I can do. The circuit is awesome and I’ve had some really good practice laps on the Team DMRR Honda Racing machines. The CBR600RR and CBR1000RRs are running well and I was the fastest newcomer during practice.

“I’ve only been with Team DMRR Honda Racing for a few weeks, but I already feel settled and everyone has made me feel really welcome. I hope I can repay all the technicians’ hard work with a good result on Saturday!”
