After a satisfying start at Brands Hatch aboard their Honda CBR1000RR Fireblades two weeks ago; Kiyonari romped home in dominating style winning the second race by nearly twenty seconds, while team mate Harris scored his best-ever British Superbike result with a second place finish, both superbike riders are looking forward to another successful weekend at the revamped Leicestershire venue.

As a result of their solid performances Kiyonari currently lies in second place in the overall Championship standings, three points shy of series leader Gregorio Lavilla, while Harris currently lies in third.

National Superstock rider John McGuinness is also ready for the weekend ahead and confident of a positive result. The Morecambe-based rider experienced his first race aboard his HM Plant Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade at Brands Hatch, where he finished eighth, and is looking forward to adding to his points tally at Donington Park.

Ryuichi Kiyonari: “Donington Park is one of my favourite circuits, I have always had good results here. For the past two years I have finished on the podium every time and I hope that this weekend will be the same.”

Karl Harris: “The result at Brands was a great way to start the season and I hope to continue in the same vein this weekend. Some of my best memories are from Donington, like finishing sixth in the World Supersport round in 2000. It’s a perfect circuit to race; I’m really looking forward to it.”

John McGuinness: “It is good that we have a race under our belt and we have a fair idea of what we are capable of. I’m looking forward to getting out there and going for it. It’s a fair track and it should produce some exciting racing this weekend.”

Qualifying for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and the National Superstock Championship takes place on Saturday 8 April at 14.45 and 12.40 respectively. The first race for the British Superbike takes place on Sunday 9 April at 12.00 with race two at 14.25. The lights go out on the National Superstock race at 16.00.

The ITV broadcast window is Sunday 9 April from 14.00 to 15.00.
