Junior Lightweight Classic & Junior Previews

Roads close at 9.30am and first will be the combined Junior and Lightweight Classic race at 10.15.

Top of the Practice Leader board in the Junior Classic class was Chris McGahan (Honda) from Douglas at 99.638mph. Second was Ian Lougher (Honda) eight seconds slower at 99.019mph, with Roy Richardson (Honda) from Thornton Cleveleys a further 19 seconds back at 97.662mph.

Top of the Practice Leader board in the Lightweight Classic was Peter Wakefield (Suzuki) from Sandbach at 93.342mph. Second was Geoff McMullan (Suzuki) from Co. Down, three seconds slower at 93.099mph, with Ewan Hamilton (Suzuki) from Aberdeen a further seven seconds back at 92.706mph.

The day’s second race will be the Junior event due to start at 1.15pm.

Top of the Practice Leader board was Derek Brien (Kawasaki), from Drogheda, Eire, at 115.713mph. Second was Stephen Oates (Yamaha) from Douglas, 12 seconds slower at 114.574mph, with Barry Davidson (Yamaha) from Ballymena a further three seconds back at 114.271mph.

At the conclusion of the race there will be a one-lap practice session for riders taking part in Friday’s events. This will be followed by the Vintage Rally participants riding on closed roads from Ballacraine to Ramsey.

The TT Course will re-open no later than 5pm.
