The launch party for TT2008 takes place at the Villa Marina, Douglas on Monday 18th February. Doors open at 7PM for the free event, which is open to the public.

The event will be attended by all of the leading solo riders including John McGuinness, Ian Hutchinson, Guy Martin, Conor Cummins, Steve Plater, Bruce Anstey and Martin Finnegan. Some exciting newcomers will also be making an appearance.

The Sidecar races at TT 2008 are already looking the most competitive for many years and sidecar racers scheduled to appear include Dave Molyneux, John Holden, Tim Reeves, Steve Norbury and Nick Crowe. Many of the main team bosses and senior industry figures are also expected at the event to announce their plans and expectations for TT 2008.

The Department of Tourism and Leisure will also be announcing the entertainment schedule that will be taking place during TT, as well as detail on an exciting development with the Parade Lap on Senior Race day.

The evening will be broadcast live on the official TT station, Manx Radio, and will be compered by Manx Radio DJ’s and TT commentators Tim Glover and Chris Kinley.

Paul Phillips, TT and Motorsport Manager, Isle of Man Government Department of Tourism and Leisure commented:

“This will be the fans chance to hear all of our exciting plans for the 2008 TT races and I can promise that we will be announcing the participation of some prestigious new teams and riders as well as the return of old favourites”.

A set of four new posters featuring the four winning riders at the Centenary TT, John McGuinness, Ian Hutchinson, Bruce Anstey and Dave Molyneux, is now available. These A3, full colour glossy prints are available free from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal or the TT Marshals Association Offices behind the TT Grandstand. Fans are encouraged to pick them up ahead of the Launch Party as all four riders will be in attendance on the night and will be available to sign their respective prints.
