The 2013 Classic TT looks set to be a fantastic event, with unprecedented public and media interest. One key component is of course the bikes competing in the event, which must represent racing in the relevant classes as closely as possible. We have devised the Classic TT rules to encourage a wide variety of machines and we are pleased with the entry in all classes and particularly the Formula 1 Classic class.

As this is a new event, with new rules and new classes and to minimise any problems when everyone arrives on the Island, could you please make sure that your bike complies with the Classic TT Eligibility Rules (Appendix C, page 30). (pdf file)

In particular, check that your bike and major components such as forks, swing arm, engine and carburettors are original or eligible and within the relevant period; if they aren't, please send details, along with a photograph to me at classictt@iomtt.com and we can check your eligibility.

If in doubt, please ask - don't risk being turned away when you arrive at Technical Control.

Best wishes

Mark George
