I need to know which were the racing numbers of the following italian riders in the 1926 Junior TT:

Luigi Arcangelis,
Mario Ghersi,
Miro Maffeis.

They all belonged to the Bianchi racing Team and they all finished the race.

Thanks,

Marco

Marco:

Miro Maffeis was number 11. This was originally for Tazio Nuvolari (Nivola) but he was injured and Miro took over the entry.

Luigi Arcangeli was number 49, and Mario Ghersi number 55.

Ghersi was 13th, Arcangeli 14th and Maffeis 20th.

Yes....wellll....there's not much to add to that...I still can't believe such a youthful character as your good self is really old enough to remember all this. What a memory!

It's quite simple really - I just look up the "Motor Cycle" and "Motor Cycling" TT issues from 1926, and there it all is!!!

"Nom-de-course" of Geoff Davison - in 1925(?) - test-driving a New Imp, a Junior Sunbeam, and a Scott, for journalistic (and fun) purposes.

'Sorry Ian, but I can't get my printer to work out a Manx Fiver at the minute.

Well done John......The story tells me that Geoff was "made up" with a moustache and skin-browning colouring.....However, as he went through the "start and finish" he turned his head sideways to see the Grandstand and the moustache blew off !!!!! This left a normal coloured area above his top lip which gave the game away.......

Nothing like this happens nowadays...OR DOES IT ????

Think of it...Norrie Whyte dressed as an arab sheik for instance !
