Joey and Cap Davies "biased" one year at Glen Moar Black Dub Between Laurel Bank and Glen Helen some times forgotten Glen Moar, same race one year, no one was faster, rare occasion I watched a race.

Any rider on any bike, much as I am a Joey fan to the bone I would like to be sitting on the hedge at say K tree with Hissy on anything modern !!!!

Having said that, DJ 10 seconds behind him !!

Great riders all of them !!!

Bob Mac & Geoff Duke on the Gilera 4s

Agreed Saturno. Add Bob Mac on the six".
Hislop on anything, but he and the RVF were as one.
Ray Amm on any modern bike. (97mph on an unfaired Manx in 1953, SIXTY ONE YEARS AGO)
Jimmy Simpson on any modern bike.(first man to lap at 60, 70, and 80!)
DJ on any modern bike.
And finally, I've often wondered at what speed a young Freddie Frith could get his original unsprung Norton round at on today's course. He lapped in 25.05 in 1937, the first ever 90mph lap. I reckon that the course is at least two minutes faster now, which means if I am correct that Freddie would have lapped in 23.05, which is 98mph! Rigid bike.

There's so many riders and amazing bikes to choose here including the three wheel guys in Jock Taylor and Mick Boddice as well.

I'd like to see Freddie Frith on the Padgett's gp 500 Yamaha Bruce Anstey rode in this year's Classic TT. Frith lapped a 90 mph average in 1937 that's some going. What would he have done on a modern machine?

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - c iom tt - 08-12-2014

Guy Martin on JM130 Fireblade.
I think for a run out, Guy Martin would like a lap on the Britten

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - Rednine - 08-12-2014

Mike Hailwood on the Sports Motorcycle's Ducati rounding the Creg again.

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - Dougboy - 08-12-2014

Mick Grant 1975 750 Kawasaki. I was there the day he beat God's lap record and it made a big impression on me (aged 12). I'd watched him earlier in the week through Bishopscourt, faster and smoother than anyone else. Awesome.

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - NB12 - 08-12-2014

Steve Hislop on a factory honda RCV Moto GP bike.

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - alien-d64 - 11-12-2014

Stanley Woods being given dispensation to ride the current Norton in the 1926 Senior

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - MIKE B8S - 11-12-2014

Stuart Easton on any bike. Think he'd take to the course like a duck to water.

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - ooobaby - 12-12-2014

JM130 flat out on the rotary Norton on the mountain!

RE: Any bike any rider at the TT?. - Trostagh - 13-12-2014

Phil McCallen on a TZ750

When we consider Mick took the record from SMB on a 750 two stroke, and SBM's 8 year old record was on a 500cc four stroke, Hailwood probably felt more than a little cheated?

However, back on topic. My first 3 TT's were '76, '77 and '81. So I missed the great mans return Huh  So that's what I'd loved to have seen.

Merry Xmas, Pete

Has to be Mike the Bike on the MV for me , never forget the first time over watching him on it and was gobsmacked all I had ever seen before were singles and british twins , what a culture shock that was , and what became a lifelong love affair with both the IOM and MV's

.
