In 4000 posts on iomtt.com i have never been called a troll,  the story about Guy has been place on facebook by a top rider's brother, shame on you.

You must be on a wind up spannerman? Can you honestly see guy martin taking over from Clarkson on top gear ? Guy has his own presenting style which I like by the way but can you imagine him waffling on like that for a whole series of top gear ? Not a chance.

Even Tyco BMW posted on their Facebook page, an article about possibly Guy being on Top Gear. (Tongue in cheek perhaps).

I reckon extremely tongue in cheek Malcolm. He's just not got the presenting style for that type of show.

RE: Guy Martin to join Top Gear? - Malcolm - 18-03-2015

Tyco BMW (effectively his present employers),  made a post on the subject.

Trolls  ???

Even the Grimsby Telegraph had an article on it.

Whatever opinion anyone has, I think it was just a bit of fun anyway.

It would be interesting for sure, sliding a Mustang around the test track shouting "WHOA NELLY!"

He is the only person I can think of that would create enough interest for people to carry on watching it. He would have to gell with the other two though, as the interaction between the three of them is what carrys the programe.
Either way and slighty off topic, I will be suprised if Clarkson goes back regardless of the outcome of the hearing. He must be near braking point where everything he does or says, is being monitored for the slightest slip up.

I could see Guy getting along with James May with their common interests in historic engineering, classic bikes and whatnot, Hammond I'm not so sure, he's always come across as a bit combative, apparently he's a keen biker too.

Both May and Hammond are bikers. Guy also likes his cars too. It might work, perhaps in a slightly different direction (less tongue in cheek).

Hammond has a nice collection of bikes. He was the one that was on the Vincent when they had the race with a train and a car and was like a Dog with two DoDars whith the prospect of riding it.
They are probably torn with trying to support Clarkson and wanting the show ( and the money and fame that comes with it) to continue.
I cant see Guy Martin wanting to commit that much time to the filming and all the other promotion stuff that goes with it.

Questions Put To Hammond by MCN on his bikes

What’s in the garage at the moment?

Quite a few right now. A 1927 Sunbeam Model 2, 1950 BMW R51 RS replica, 1959 Norton Dominator racer, new Norton Commando 961 SE, 1976 Honda Gold Wing, 1974 Kawasaki Z900, 1976 Yamaha FS-1E, Honda SS50, Kawasaki ZXR750H1, Suzuki GSX-R1100, Kawasaki KR1-S, Moto Guzzi Le Mans Mk1, Bimota YB9, Ducati 916 SPS Foggy rep, two BMW K1s, a Suzuki GS1000, BMW K100RS, R100RT, R90S, and my daily ride which is an R1200RT. I also have a Brough Superior SS100 being restored, and an SS80 period race replica on the way. Oh, and a Suzuki TL125 trials bike. I use all of them as much as I can. I don’t like to think of myself as a collector. I just love riding motorcycles; not on track but just to ride. I love it.

Are there others you would love to own?

Oh yes, of course! If I find a tenner down the back of the sofa I automatically think I can put that towards another bike. I would love a Vincent Black Shadow, a Honda CBX1000, Kawasaki GPZ900, Kawasaki GPZ1000RX, original 1992 Honda Fireblade and a Honda RC30. It’s never-ending.

I hope guy has nothing to do with the program personally! It's a program I never watch I its a complete waste of the licence payers money they only test or wreck cars the ordinary working man can't afford anyway!

I too, do not watch it, can't stand it, but, it makes more money for the BBC than any other programme, so doesn't actually cost licence payers anything!

But.. If you dont watch the programe ( 5 million people do) how do you know you dont like it?Blush
I never use to watch it as I use tho think it was just a programe about cars, but after starting to watch a couple of years back as they were doing a feature on something I wanted to watch, a lot of the time its not about cars.
The special they did going the length of Vietnam on Scooters being a case in point.
Like Marmite, give it a try, you might just like it, if you dont, you are no worse off!

RE: Guy Martin to join Top Gear? - Jonesthebike - 18-03-2015

Mr clarkson put me off the program now he's gone who knows? I may just watch again I have had the opportunity to actually watch them filming live as they have used my brother in laws old mans land on more than one occasion here in mid-Wales .
