Gumsheilds. - c iom tt - 28-06-2015

I was watching the MotoGP from Assen yesterday on the TV, and saw Valentino Rossi using gumsheilds, ( I assume for protection in an accident or to stop him grinding his teeth) and wondered if any of the TT riders use them.
Does anyone know who does or why?

Never heard of this before, but I have heard a rumor that Floyd Mayweather is in talks with Arai for a helmet deal for his next fight......

I've no idea why but never noticed it before, have you?

If not then maybe it's for some dental reason rather than for a racing reason.

Some years ago a rider TT, Manx? Died when he swallowed his denture after a crash, most take them out before a race, I would  not to use a gum shield as I would prefer a clear airway.

Hi, I must admit to seeing a couple of the Moto GP riders taking gum shields out after the race had finished.

Sorry I can't remember when.
