Cycling will be banned on the Mountain Road during the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT Road Races.

The Manx police received several calls during TT after cyclists were spotted on the route, which at the time wasn't prohibited despite the high volume of traffic using the road.

The road closure order for the upcoming fortnight of racing states there will be no cycling on the Mountain Road.

The road will also remain two-way for the duration of the event while the course is open unlike in TT when the route is one way.

The first Manx Grand Prix practices get underway next Saturday.

Oh blimey how ghastly .... the self entitled people will be most offended and enraged with the common sense applied here, they'd rather be putting their rights well before their lives for some very very strange obscure reason.
