OLD TROPHIES-Do they die - Anonymous - 12-06-2004 Now that the TT programme is to be revamped in 2005, I have to ask "What happens to the trophies which have been awarded to now-defunct races The Vernon Cooper trophy (250cc) The Lightweight Tourist Tropht The Fred Launchbury Trophy (400cc) The TT F11Cup (Junior) to name but a few ?? I can see the existing "Mercury" Trophies being re-allocated to the "New" Prod based races but the other ones were presented to the memory of riders and people from TT History John Hartle and John Williams trophies as well. There are others less known, which have ceased to be awarded as time progressed Where do they all go ? Museums ? |
