This is great, I haven't really got much of a clue when it comes to identifying a lot of these. This goes back to a time when I was more interested in riding my chopped Harley & didn't take a lot of notice of racing! (that's why I enjoy the Classic racing at the Manx now!)
Really good quality pics too, thanks.

Thanks for all the responses and cheers sticky for ID'ing no 35. Glad you're enjoying these and all comments are gratefully received. The kind compliments about the pics are great although I'm afraid my photographic skills are a bit like my riding skills - mediocre at best. However it's the subject that matters here!

So I have just one more sidecar pic, taken I assume somewhere in the paddock, can't remember where exactly:

I found this view interesting at the time as you can get a good look at the mechanicals with the body off. But I can't remember if the body for this was the No 39 (on left of pic) or the red/black panel (behind it). Anyway - any ideas?

Yellow & white long wheelbase outfit - probably Mike Burcombe & Steve Parker. The yellow & white bit is for the outfit in the shot. The red/black fairing behind is for another bike. Looks familiar but nothng leaping to mind at the moment.

Many thanks for the quick reply sticky.

OK I've got 4 pics now from the senior (I think):

any info gratefully received...

34 Bob Heath.....that's all I can do sadly. They all look familiar.........but old age is taking its toll!

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - Alfie Noakes - 09-05-2020

34 i'd guess at Bob Heath judging by the livery.
23 guessing at the local Manx Paints on the side - John Crellin ?

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - sticky - 09-05-2020

1st shot #23 - Steve Moynihan - RG500

4th shot # 75 - Guessing at Jimmy Millar

#34 is Bob Heath

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - sticky - 09-05-2020

I think the rider next to Bob Heath might be Andy Cooper - the helmet looks right & he was down to ride a Spondon Yamaha

Yes I reckon Andy Cooper too.

Thanks again to all for the replies, this is great stuff!

This iis my last 4 pics from the senior, and tbh they're not exactly professional quality shots. They're actually good examples of me trying to pan with bikes doing 100+ mph and failing miserably!

However if we can identify these it would be much appreciated:

I've got a few more shots from some other classes & I'll post them next, if that's OK.

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - Moderator2 - 10-05-2020

29 John Heselwood on an RG500 Suzuki

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - sticky - 10-05-2020

I remember the unusual helmet he used to wear but I couldn't recall his name for the life of me...

I think #82 might be Elmar Guelen and the 3rd shot (red, white & blue lid) may be Malcolm Lucas

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - koala27 - 10-05-2020

Mny thanks guys for the replies.

Next up are 4 pics taken on the run into gooseneck, from I think, the Formula 1 race. They're not the most exciting (or well-composed) pics in the world frankly but again any info would be helpful:

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - ian333 - 10-05-2020

The last one looks like Davy Gordon from N Ireland.

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - sticky - 10-05-2020

#18 is John Heselwood again!

3rd shot down is Dave Bedlington on a Norton

I was wracking my brains for the last one - I would agree that it's Davy Gordon

2nd one down on the stock Z750. Is that Eric Galbraith? I seem to remember him riding stock looking bikes from time to time

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - koala27 - 11-05-2020

Many thanks sticky & Ian - great work again, much appreciated.

Next few are again taken on the approach to Gooseneck and again not the most amazing shots. Llight levels were bit low, that's my excuse anyway!

The first one is (I think) Formula 1 class and the others from the historic. However I'm happy to be corrected on that.

16 - big Sam McClements?

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - sticky - 11-05-2020

The first pic is from the F1. Fairly sure it's Alistair Frame on a BSA Rocket 3

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - koala27 - 11-05-2020

Cheers sticky and Ian, that's great stuff thank you.

And finally my last set of pics! These pictures are again taken at the approach to Gooseneck and are from the historic class:

RE: 1984 TT - anybody recognise these riders/bikes? - sticky - 11-05-2020

Going back to the first lot of Classic TT pics, Ithink #1 must be Steve Cull - 350 Aermacchi. I think #24 is John Stephens - 350 Norton.
