A grand night out! - thewitch - 15-03-2006

It is planned to hold a TTwebsite Night Out on 31 May, from about 7pm. I haven't booked anything yet, but suggest we start with a meal at La Piazza, as it is near the ferry terminal, and some of the people attending will be leaving early (?) to catch a ferry.
If you'd like to come, please either post here or pm me..I will book as soon as it looks like a have a firm number.

Count me in! For 2 people
I have spoken to "er in doors", my dear Pamela.
She said Yallah! Which is belly dance speak for "go for it!"
NO, she wont be performing!!

It sounds like a great idea, as long as enough turn up.
We will be travelling over from Sulby Bridge, so no excuse for those
staying in Douglas!
I have volunteered to drive back, so wont be drinking, but I will
survive.
Come on gang! Lets show some support for the organiser?
Oh, and are you inviting an ACU representative.
(ducks for cover)

Should Mr Parker, Mr Nelson or any other ACU representative wish to join us, I am sure the ttwebsite members will extend tham every courtesy, as they would us.
That reminds me..we are all paying our own!

To Hilary,

Hey! I have just noticed that you "hail" from Louth!
Well, I spent an unplanned week in Louth, in 1981, following a trip to Cadwell.
Where do you think I stayed?

- Hilary M - 16-03-2006

Not good old Louth County Hospital? Casualties from Cadwell generally get sent to Grimsby nowadays, making it further for family/mechanics to travel for visiting. I actually live near Cadwell, out of the main gate, turn left ,left at the crossroads, and along the Bluestone Heath Road for about 5 miles.

Helen ,
put on a free bar for the ACU then they will turn up Lol
& make sure the buffet is mega big for the Fat Controller, Lol
& Blue blazers is the required dress code,, Lol

Mike do you really trust Fitz to pick you up?? Taxis are always late on the IOM,& plus charge the earth Smile (no offence Fitz,,lol ,)
Fitz, Salmon sarnies have got a bit stale, so Yvonne has stopped making them,,

Hope you all have a good night, will be thinking of you Tongue

- David Griffiths - 16-03-2006

Don't worry Mike, Cargo has already offered to pay for any ACU members who want to come along for a free meal.......

- Hilary M - 16-03-2006

Do they serve extra hot vindaloo? That would make them all choke.I wish

- MV - 17-03-2006

Yep.
Louth County indeed!
A week there which coincided with the opening of the big bridge.
The people were great to me.
had a visit from a local star... was it Stephen Chamber? (been a long time!)
I was racing an X7 and it was my first visit.
Practice went well and I took it steady.
BUT, once the flag went down and i got away first
(Just a luck of the gearing!) I got carried away.
But my downfall was when a lady passed me (Gale or Gail somebody?)
on an elderly Yamaha. I thought, I am on a newer bike and its a ladee, so ...there we have it. Gooseneck. sky grass, sky grass, grass grass grass.....
I was lucky to "get away" with it with JUST a bad wrist fracture and fractured and displaced neck of femur.
That put paid to my racing, which I wouldnt have missed for the world!
I wonder what happened to said ladee?
