Up to date TT report - thewitch - 25-02-2007

Borrowed from Paddock Gossip, who borrowed it elsewhere, and originally from "The Motor Cycle" of 1907. Enjoy.

That was from the era when reporting was an art, a special thing.......

It reads like you were there.

Pity some of todays reporters haven't read this type of reporting and used it as a basis of their own scribblings......

I wish Norrie was still with us.

Most enjoyable, good to see a writer with his own opinions and prepared to write them.
What did he mean by the 1908 Little Tourist Trophy?

Although myself and many others loudly bemoan the loss of out and out racing motorcycles at the IOM races, according to the scribe in 1907:
"...the machines in no way deserved the term freak. Indeed, but for the fact that most of them were rather lightly built, they differed in no way from ordinary touring motor bicycles."

Perhaps the wheel has turned full circle now and we are back where we started. Certainly the circumferences of some of those officials are a match for our current overlords.
