You can just imagine the little devil on one of those... derestricted, fo course... he must have been a menace.
He still races the odd classic.

up

I actually didn't have a Fizzy

I had an AP50.............Suzuki........... 5 speed box

- MV - 26-07-2007

Yes, Jim Whitham indeed.
I believe he still owns and rides one...

I had a Suzuki A100 brand new when I was in my 30s
That was my comeback year after we had the girls.
I even went to the TT from Staines on that!
My FIRST bike in 1959 was a Moto Rumi Formichino
I even had a nickname from it "Little Ant" or "ANTY"
(I wonder if anyone out there remembers?)
A scooter that we all thought sounded like an MV!!!!
I used to rev it flat out (at about 57mph) past the local
coffee bar, delaying the gear change for as long as possible.
Happy days

- PeterCourtney - 29-07-2007

if only.....I thought I could get hold of the bits to give the option of TD3/TR3, then repaint it in my ex-Don-Padgett 1973 TT bike (in the Shell colours) then apply to parade it round the straightened-out course, with the less bumps to make my old Farmers' play up!
Lottery office, here I come!

- Chris Thackeray - 29-07-2007

Tell you what Peter I sure would love to ride one again before I die, is that too much to ask for.

Found this........

Sorry Fizzy pop pop dont do it for me.

- The Bag - 29-07-2007

When I was 15 I dreamed of owning a roberts rep Fizzy, but instead I had an electric blue AP50, got a 65cc Terry Beckett cylinder and pipe. It was dead loud, went off the speedo and lasted 2 whole hours before locking solid and never being run again. It had a two/four racing seat, rear sets and of course straight bars!!! The tyres ?? a set of cheng shing deathmasters, what else???? it looked well cool Lol It was without doubt the coolest, fastest bike in my area for those 2 hours LOL!!!!
Oh to be young again.........
