Tim and Patrick for the TT - thewitch - 03-12-2007

Excellent news.
Tim will, of course, be a newcomer (yellow jacket, Tim!), but his passenger, Patrick Farrance has extensive TT experience having been the youngest ever passenger (am I right, Larry??), riding with Andy Laidlow.
Wonder who Andy will have this time?
This must be shaping up to be the best sidecar TT entry ever.

Great stuff!

They mentioned that they were off to see Paul at the last meeting at Mallory .... can I uncross my fingers now?

- thewitch - 03-12-2007

They are across here just now. As guests at the Joey Dunlop Foundation sidecar party on Saturday night, they were trying to pretend nothing had been decided, but, of course, all the sidecar people knew!
That was a great night with Rob Fisher, Klaffi, Nicky Crowe and the world champions all joining in the fun.

Come on - what do I know about sidecars :?: :?:

Ask Barry W - he's bound to know :!: :!:

- thewitch - 03-12-2007

Larry, I am so disillusioned. Cargo assured me you know EVERYTHING.

- cargo - 03-12-2007

OH dear Helen sorry...............
but you've miss heard or misread me

Larry "thinks" he know everything..................

That is what makes him a smart bottom...............if he really did know everything then he would just be smart..............but terribly boring

Hi All ,

Has anyone wearing the newcomer yellow jacket ever won a TT race , be it in any catagory ?

- Fitz - 04-12-2007

None that I can think of and I don't think we will be starting with Tim.

Tim has stated that he wants to learn the circuit and not go home in a box (his words) so I think he has the right approach.

I think it will be a good couple of years before he is looking for podiums and he will have to be very intimate with the IOM to lap as fast as Nick.

Brilliant news that Tim is coming over though and I am sure he won't disappoint.

- thewitch - 04-12-2007

Tim even said he would come and live here for a bit to learn the course. He shares a PR person with Steve Plater who has offered to help... now there's a lad with the right attitude. Patrick, his passenger, is very experienced here and will, of course, also help.

He may be a three times world champ, but lets face it sidecar world series isn't anything like it used to be. You couldn't even put him in the same league of the websters, bilands, streuer, dixon, abbott etc he wouldn't have got in the first half dozen.

He has a good team and overall package behind him, but I'd not be rushing to watch him race, dont rate him in any aspect really. Sidecars have always been the second class citizens which has never been justified. Its had its day many years ago at world level, which is a great shame. The world series now is a farce even the coverage on TV is enough to put you to sleep.

Like I say he may be a three time world champ, but who's he ever beat ? he wouldn't get close to any of the above thats a fact

- larryd - 23-12-2007

I see you're back to stirring poo, Garry :!:

Leg getting better, is it :?: :?:

- GarryD - 23-12-2007

Getting there larry how you guess Lol fact is though tim would be nowhere in the company of the blokes ive mentoned. Having said that he's world champ three times, maybe I should get back on one and give em a race.

All the best for xmas Larry, going to email you soon want to pick your brains on something.
