If you can't do this you might consider using those internet/cyber cafes etc., some of which may offer wireless access.

I have used Fegan's Internet Cafe... reasonable cost for internet access (their computers or yours).... it is a short walk from the Ferry Terminal (uphill), near all the banks. http://www.feegan.com/

Cheers..!!

The dongles are £50 and work very well anywhere there is a mobile signal

RE: USB Internet dongle - pat slinn - 21-05-2009

What on earth is a Dongle?

RE: USB Internet dongle - MV - 22-05-2009

sorry Pat
Its a technical IT word for a "thingy!"
Dongles have been around in various shapes and sizes for quite a few years
In simple terms they are small self contained plugin computer hardware devices
Usually containing software for a single application
Did that help?
Regards

I will be using a Pay-as-You-Go, Broadband, USB Dongle from the mobile service supplier, 3
It was about £29 from Maplin Electronics. I suspect the roaming charge will be high on the Island but it's only for a few days so I will have to drink less beer.smilie
