TTFAN in Hospital - ian huntly - 10-07-2009

My Dad has asked me to let you know that he is the ROYAL BERKSHIRE HOSPITAL Reading with a Thrombosed Artery in his left leg.

He is in great pain and it appears that it has been building up for a while. (He had a bad limp)

I will be doing work on his computer while he is hospital and be visiting him while he is waiting for an operation.

Thank You

Simon Huntly (son of TTFan)

RE: TTFAN in Hospital - Malcolm - 10-07-2009

Simon,

Please pass on the best regards of everyone at TTwebsite to your father, for a speedy recovery and a return to full health.

Do you have an address and ward number etc for your dad ?

Malcolm.

Please pass on my personal regards and good wishes for a speedy recovery.
I have only met Ian once, when I called in at the "Pegasus" shop.
I will try to keep in touch when next home from the Middle East, since I live less than 20 miles away in Fleet.

RE: TTFAN in Hospital - DCLUCIE - 12-07-2009

'All the best fella' as they say over here.

As someone who has recently been through the grind I know how bad it can get. All the very best wishes from me and the family and get well soon. My tips for survival in there are as follows

1) Keep your hands off the nurses
2) Get to know the pizza delivery number nearby
3) Do as you are told
4) ear plugs are a must (needed for a good nights sleep)
5) remember to be honest, no point in being brave and saying your fine when you are still in pain. It doesn't work, believe me.

All the very best and take care

RE: TTFAN in Hospital - John Foster - 12-07-2009

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Ian. I appreciate that it's painful enough being a Geordie at this time, thanks to Mike Ashley, without the extra that you're encountering.

Earlier today I saw a Newcastle season-ticket nailed to a tree. I thought, 'I'm having that!' 'cos you can never have enough nails, can you?"

RE: TTFAN in Hospital - ian huntly - 19-07-2009

At last I am off the morphine drip and no longer see the hallucinations.

Yes, this is me folks, lying in a hospital bed, post op with very blue toes thinking about the TT and forgetting Newcastle Disunited for a while.
While I was hallucinating I did think of buying the club Hah....

Anyhow, I thank all of you who contacted me via my son Simon, for the get well cards and the phone calls to my wife. I gives me a real boost that so many were concerned. I'm not 100% yet and my wife and I are wondering whether to cancel our annual holiday abroad.

However you have to keep things going and make sure that each day shows progress upward.

Thanks again, TTFAN

RE: TTFAN in Hospital - ian huntly - 23-07-2009

Hoping to get home for the weekend

Foot still painful and I may lose at least one toe.

My thanks to everyone who has shown conccern and have sent e-mails from literally all over the world. And all the get-well cards, they filled my side table !!|

So again I have had a warning, but I look forward to TT 2010

Thanks again

Hey Ian, sorry to read about this mate. You hang in there powl, WE have more chinese food to throw around together over there next year yet man, and YOU cannot NOT go to the TT when I AM there!

RE: TTFAN in Hospital - ian huntly - 29-07-2009

Thanks for yor message. After what you suffered, my leg clot pales to insignificence. Even so I haven't had pain like this for a long time !!

I may lose a toe but that won't marr my beauty.

I was told last night to prepare myself to GO HOME today so that has given me a feeling of elation I haven't felt since landing on Manx Soil only a few weeks ago.

Yes Shaun there is life in us dogs yet (AROOOOOHHHHH) and I hope to set TT2010 as being a return to full normal (if I ever was )

Cheers
