Nick Crowe and Mark Cox Quiz thank you - ROSIE - 20-07-2009

The Very First All Island Quiz.

The Nick Crowe Fund Raisers with Frank and Liz. Mitchell held the Isle of Mans very first all Island Quiz last night. What startered off as a simple offer to hold a Quiz Night at the Sulby Glen Hotel soon turned into something much bigger and better.
Rosie and Hayley conscious of the fact that to hold a large Quiz night event meant people would have to drive from all over to one destination, and then again finding a venue large enough to hold all those who wished to support the evening was also a problem. So what next……hold the quiz in local venues and link them all to gether by a web page.
Eight out of nine selected venues took part with a total of over 40 teams taking part. Frank set the quiz and using the Sulby Glen Hotel as headquarters started the evening going with a warm welcome to all thanking them for supporting the Nick Crowe and Mark Cox Fundraising, which is set up to help the Lads and their families through the first few months of financial and medical expenses after their horrendous crash during this year T.T. caused by a Hare running onto the track.
The web page was updated after each round of questions and a fierce battle for first place commenced, this was heightened by the fact each team could see how the rest of the Island was progressing.
At the end of a thoroughly enjoyable evening, Frank declared the Winning team in the Sulby Glen to be the “Nohopefulls” Rosie and Co. but there was no cheating, each Venue then declared their winning team and the scores collated to find the Overall Winning Team, which is the…………….. Shore In Gansey
Then the top scoring two teams from each Venue were added together to find the Winning Venue.
The Winner of the Inaugural All Island Quiz (Because I’m sure it will happen again and again now ) was “The Shore Hotel in Gansey” WELL DONE to Debbie and all at the Shore Gansey.

A simple idea which turned out to be heralded as another success for the Nick Crowe Fundraising Team.
Most of all a big Thank you to all who supported the event, every penny collected is very much needed and greatly appreciated.
