The Manx Motor Cycle Club organised its first meeting on the Snaefell mountain Course in 1923, under the title of The Manx Amateur Road Race Championship, which quickly became known as the Amateur TT, mainly to save journalists of the time having coronaries typing the full title numerous times during their reports.

In 1930, after many years of disputes over the word Amateur, the event was re-christened The Manx Grand Prix and is the now renowned ‘as the most sporting races of the year’, some 81 years later.

The first MARRC Race was run on Thursday 20th September 1923 and now some 397 races later the full results are now available on the Manx Grand Prix Festival website: http://www.mgpfestival.com .

The MARRC & Manx Grand Prix Races are listed in Competitor order, with the database holding the results of 23,325 riders who have come under starters orders, who have over the years completed some 84,511 laps of the 37.73 mile Snaefell Mountain Course, a total distance of 3,190,109.73 miles!
