Paging Larry Devlin!
Larry, being someone who has impressive historical knowledge, do you know who this is?

Taking a real flyer here, sticky.

I reckon Tommy Bullus, who rode works NSUs in the early 30s, married the MD's daughter, quit racing, and I think went into business with Bill Doran (ex-works rider for AJS) after the war.

Larry, I think it IS Tommy Bullus. He was from Leeds, and didn't go into business with Bill Doran. That was Matt Wright (ex AJS mechanic), and they set up Doran and Wright in Whitchurch. I'm still in touch with Peggy Doran, her daughter Jayne, and HER daughter Emily who works for a Ducati shop.
Tommy Bullus worked for a local finance company Union Transport Finance (UTF) in Pudsey between Leeds and Bradford in the fifties.
I do know someone who could confirm the photo IS Tommy.

Thank you gentlemen - I'll put 'the other channel' out of their misery! By the way, did Tommy Bullus ride in the TT or Manx? He doesn't have an entry in the rider's database. The name's familiar to me though, just can't think why...

Tom finished 4th on a Panther in the Senior TT '25. Some piece of informaton here (in German)
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Bullus

In Germany the bevel/shaft singles were called 'Bullus NSU', he was very popular over here as was his British compatriot Walter Moore who designed the engines.
